Step by step
Follow the museum task in order

Clean and collect
Finish the active exhibit interaction and pick up the hat or gear it reveals. Check that your avatar is carrying the find.

Approach a display
Walk around the case until the current Place prompt appears. Screenshots show many cases, but they do not define a full compatibility map.

Use the Place input
Click on PC or press RT on console. Wait for the item to appear inside the display.

Record your own reminder
If a room still has a missing spot, save a short device-local note in the progress tracker rather than trusting an unrelated map.
If it does not work
Fix the current issue
No Place prompt
Confirm you are carrying a find and move along the display edge. The current item may belong to a different case.
The item drops instead
Pick it up again and use the published Place input—Click on PC or RT on console—only when the prompt is visible.
